So much of what happens in the kitchen is done on autopilot. After unpacking on move-in day, for example, most of us never give another thought to where we put our silverware or how we arrange our spices.

Most people have items they no longer use and aren’t sure what to do with them. Whether it’s clothing that no longer fits or is outdated, furniture that needs replacing, or old sports equipment, books, toys, or household items, these belongings take up valuable real estate in your home.

The Project 333 challenge started in 2010. I live my life like this. Some people I see regularly realize that I repeat many of my outfits, I’m sure. But no one ever says anything, and wearing only 33 items makes me a little more creative when I get dressed.

That’s right. Just start to declutter. Do one small thing. Easy and simple. Do one thing that leads to another. Don’t procrastinate. Just begin the process.
