All the Household Items You’ll Be Glad You Tossed This August
Summer heat, long days, and a surplus of outdoor activities can take a toll on everything from beach towels to patio furniture. As the season winds down, there’s no reason to bring those unneeded or damaged items into the fall. “A home should reflect the season a person is actually in, not the one they’ve moved past,” says professional organizer Kimberly Savel-Turek.
Before you pack away your summer gear, take a thoughtful look at what’s worth keeping, what can be donated, and what should simply be tossed in the trash. “August is a natural checkpoint,” Savel-Turek says. “The pace slows just enough before the back-to-school rush hits, and there’s real psychological benefit to closing one season out before opening the next.”
