The floor has a way of becoming a catchall in the home. Shoes get kicked off by the door, packages are dropped in the entryway, and bags land wherever we happen to set them down. One or two things may not seem like much, but they can quickly turn into piles that make an otherwise-tidy room feel way too cluttered. It may surprise you to learn that the solution isn’t necessarily having less stuff—it’s giving the stuff you have a proper place to land. But first, you have to know what shouldn’t be left on the floor in the first place, which is why we called up the pros.
