Learn to Declutter with Declutter Deck®

With the insight of our professional organizing team, and feedback from our clients, The Uncluttered Life, Inc. has created Declutter Deck® prompt cards. These unique, focused, easy-to-use decluttering and organizing cards, called Declutter Deck®, help clients learn to declutter and organize on their own. These decks, done regularly, transform your life from chaos and clutter to organized and carefree.

Guiding you by home area and category, Declutter Decks® are 52 self-paced prompt cards that teach you how and what to organize and declutter. The declutter portion of our cards encourage you to reduce what you own by at least twenty percent. This is a good rule of thumb in decluttering that will make the sheer volume you own easier to organize. The reason is that it can be difficult to organize until you have decluttered or let go of a significant portion of what you own. The remaining organization cards help you organize and put away the rest.

Prompts and projects take less than one hour at a time to complete.

Home Organization Reduces Stress

Your home reflects who you are. By creating an environment that truly resonates with your personality and aspirations, you cultivate a sanctuary that nurtures and rejuvenates you daily. Imagine walking into a room where every corner sparks joy, each item has its purpose, and the atmosphere is one of peace and calm. This intentional space not only enhances your well-being but also inspires creativity, productivity, and a deeper connection to yourself. Remember, your home is where your heart is, and tending to it with love and care can transform it into a haven of comfort and serenity.

Declutter for Good Mental Health and Happiness

There is something to be said about having a clean and organized work or living space. According to a study by Princeton University, researchers discovered that your environment can positively or negatively impact your ability to complete tasks as well as affect your overall mental health. If the physical space around you feels scattered, it’s likely your mental space will feel the same. In addition, a study by the University of Connecticut found that by removing or controlling clutter, you can directly reduce the stress that stems from this mess. You will ultimately feel happier, less anxious, and more confident in yourself. Lastly, Mayo Clinic experts recommend decluttering as a way to improve mood, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. Even dedicating a small amount of time each day to organizing can make a difference.

Additional Benefits

  • Large walk-in closet.

Our Favorite Area to Declutter and Organize

People frequently ask us which area of the home we find most beneficial to our clients to organize. The answer is closets. This has nothing to do with the sequence of the KonMari Method®*. We enjoy organizing clothing first because your day begins with getting dressed. When you feel positive about your closet, it sets a harmonious tone for the rest of your morning and day.

*The KonMari Method® promotes tidying by category rather than by location, starting with clothing, followed by books, papers, komono (miscellaneous items), and finally, sentimental items.

  • Small organized closet.

    Children’s Toys

The benefits of organizing a child’s toys are immense. Young children need easy access to their toys and books, and can learn to return items to their designated place once playtime is over. This practice imparts several valuable lessons. First, it helps children know where to find a beloved toy the next time they want it, reducing the chaos of searching for favorites. Secondly, it teaches them to group similar items, which aids in understanding the collection of books and toys they possess.

Additionally, this organization makes it easier for children to identify new items, while parents can easily spot toys that may have been outgrown or are too advanced for their child's current age.

  • Minimalist bedroom and closet organization.

The Importance of an Organized Office

An organized office can significantly impact your productivity, whether you're working from home or managing a home office that caters to your family's needs. When your space is clutter-free, it helps lower cortisol levels, effectively reducing stress and promoting clearer thinking.

Sitting down at a tidy desk equipped with suitable filing systems enhances work efficiency and professionalism. Say goodbye to the frustration of searching for papers, bills, or school assignments that need to be submitted the following day. A well-organized workspace not only boosts productivity but also elevates your professional image.

  • Large luxury clear glass organized closet.

    Savor Keepsake Organizers

One of our top organizational tools at The Uncluttered Life® is the Savor Keepsake Organizer. Available on Amazon and at retail locations like The Container Store®, this system helps you keep only the most significant items from a child's life, reducing clutter while preserving life's treasured memories.

By using this type of filing system for sentimental items, you can easily expand it as the child matures or as new family members join. These elegant linen filing boxes can be displayed on a shelf for convenient access. It's truly a must-have item!
